Course Overview
The Safety, Health and Environmental Awareness (SHEA) Power scheme provides a standardised approach to health, safety, and environmental awareness within the power industry, developed in line with Health and Safety Executive (HSE) guidelines. This training is essential for individuals requiring access to operational sites in the power industry, including operatives, supervisors, and managers, both at permanent and temporary sites.
What You’ll Learn: The SHEA Power scheme is composed of 8 modules:
- Modules 1-6: Core health, safety, and environmental knowledge applicable across all utility sectors.
- Modules 7-8: Specific to the UK Power Industry, addressing the unique safety and environmental challenges of power operations.
By completing all 8 modules, participants will demonstrate a strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental standards in the power sector. This course ensures compliance with industry regulations and promotes awareness of the responsibilities associated with maintaining a safe working environment.
CSCS Partner: The SHEA Power scheme is recognised by the CSCS Alliance, providing power industry workers with access to construction sites for utilities work.
Training & Assessment: We offer two flexible options for training:
- Remote/e-Classroom via Zoom: Convenient online training with live instruction from our expert trainers.
Upon successful completion of the training and assessment, you will receive a SHEA Power EUSR registration, valid for three years. While this certification reflects knowledge and awareness of health and safety practices, it does not signify technical expertise.
Joining Remote/E-Classroom
Our courses are held on Zoom, and you will receive a personalised meeting link with your enrolment instructions. We recommend downloading the Zoom app in advance; you can find it here: Zoom Download. For further support, please review the Zoom Meetings Guide before your course.
Attendance
Full attendance is required to pass the course. If your internet connection fails for an extended period or repeatedly, you may not be allowed to re-join unless it is restored within 5 minutes. This ensures the learning experience for other participants is not disrupted.
Assessment
SHEA Power is a 6.5-hour course that can be completed in a full day or split across two evenings, consisting of 8 modules, each with a brief multiple choice assessment.
EUSR Registration
EUSR registration for SHEA Power is for three years from the date of assessment.
