Course Information

Course Overview

The Safety, Health and Environmental Awareness (SHEA) Water scheme has been developed to provide a standardised approach to health, safety, and environmental awareness across the water industry, in line with Health and Safety Executive (HSE) guidelines. This training is essential for individuals who need access to operational sites within the water industry, including operatives, supervisors, and managers at both permanent and temporary sites.

What You’ll Learn: The SHEA Water scheme consists of 8 modules:

  • Modules 1-6: Core health, safety, and environmental practices applicable across all utility sectors.
  • Modules 20-21: Specific to the UK Water Industry, focusing on the unique health and safety requirements for water operations.

This training ensures you understand the key workplace safety laws and best practices specific to the water industry. By completing all 8 modules, you’ll demonstrate an appropriate level of knowledge, awareness, and understanding of health and safety in water operations.

CSCS Partner: The SHEA Water scheme is recognised by the CSCS Alliance, allowing water industry workers to access construction sites for utilities work.

Training & Assessment: We provide the following training options:

  • Remote/e-Classroom via Zoom: Flexible online training with live guidance from our expert trainers.

After successfully completing the training and assessment, you will receive a SHEA Water EUSR registration, which is valid for three years. While the scheme certifies health, safety, and environmental awareness, it does not indicate technical or skilled expertise.

Joining Remote/E-Classroom

Our courses are held on Zoom, and you will receive a personalised meeting link with your enrolment instructions. We recommend downloading the Zoom app in advance; you can find it here: Zoom Download. For further support, please review the Zoom Meetings Guide before your course.

Attendance

Full attendance is required to pass the course. If your internet connection fails for an extended period or repeatedly, you may not be allowed to re-join unless it is restored within 5 minutes. This ensures the learning experience for other participants is not disrupted.

Assessment

SHEA Water is a 6.5-hour course that can be completed in a full day or split across two evenings, consisting of 8 modules, each with a short multiple choice assessment.

EUSR Registration

EUSR registration for SHEA Water is for three years from the date of assessment.
